Cross border reporting is necessary if journalists want to stay watchdogs in ever more globalised societies. This poses new challenges on systematic planning, teamwork communication, ethics, story telling and so forth. Brigitte Alfter is about to publish a book summarising the method of cross border reporting from idea to publication and follow up including potential pitfalls and methods of solving them. The book is based on a long series of interviews with the pioneer journalists in the field, in the workshop she will present some key points and then help participants develop their ideas.
