Dataharvest 2014 has ended

Investigative journalists, data specialists and coding whiz kids will once again gather in Brussels this year for the fourth edition of Journalismfund.eu’s Dataharvest Conference. Dataharvest+ takes place on Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday morning 11 May 2014.

Enquete ouverte - French investigative journalism platform

"Résidences de tourisme, placement toxique" is a french crowdfunded investigation on a large a scam that has already affected some 20,000 individuals in France. Inspired by other models like helpmeinvestigate.com or spot.us, this investigation was based on a community of stakeholder users and sources. The team of journalists involved have since developped a platform to host other investigations and try to developp and improve the model : www.enqueteouverte.info The main language of the session will be French, though English is also welcome.

Crowdfunding
Crowdfunding is a participatory way to collect money and to test innovative ideas on the market. While crowdfunding is a well-known and widely used concept for creative and cultural projects as well as technology gadgets, it is yet less know to fund specific projects in media and journalism. However, first successful projects show the potential for media and journalism in Europe. This workshop will provide a short intoduction into crowdfunding in Europe alongside cases and regulatory hurdles, but will also aim at giving participants an opportunity to develop and test their own ideas
