To the bone
The horse meat scandal has been a wake up call for Europe. What about our meat? What about our other food? Is it still safe enough what we put in our mouth? Before horse gate knocked journalists, politicians and consumers awake, Marcel van Silfhout and Jörg Zipprick – both investigative and culinary journalists – were already moved by worrisome questions on the issue of Food Safety. Both have published books about food scandals in Germany and The Netherlands. They applied for support from Journalismfund.eu to dig deeper in a very special investigative mission they focused on since December last year. They hope to be ready with their breaking story at the Data Harvest. If not, they will give at least preview on their findings that will surely get much attention in Europe soon.

Fight against multiresistant bacteria MRSA - help develop European coverage
Doctors are deeply concerned about the growing cases of multiresistant bacteria, where patients can not be cured. If this continues, we move towards a situation like before the invention of antibiotics, when pneumonia and other infections could not be cured. Journalists interested in working on MRSA can gather and look for partners.
